A BUZZING AFFAIR

The first edition of Hummingbird, held in association with t2 at 57/1 Ballygunge Circular Road on November 18, had fashion and lifestyle labels from across the country and Pakistan offering a stylish mix of products. Clothes, bags, jewellery, accessories, perfumes, home decor items... it was a comprehensive range. Some of the names were Nida Azwer, AparnaShefali We’ves, Mignonette, Radhika Singhi, Ram Kumar Manna and Narayan Sinha. Sneha Singhi of Paris Cafe served up hot sweet and savoury items. A live band added to the ambience.

The team: Hummingbird organisers (l-r) Ritu Bansal, Shuchi Rajgarhia, Radhika Singhi, Ambrish Damani, Shefali Poddar Arpana Jalan and Jaya Malaviya sported identical hummingbird necklaces. “The entire exhibition has been fantastic. Although we were worried about the rains, everything went smoothly. Come rain or shine, hummingbird will fly,” laughed Shuchi.
Stall hopping: Sneha Singhi of Paris Cafe took a break from plating up at her food stall to look and shop around.
Eye-catchers: (Clockwise from right) A gift box of 10ml bottles of fragrances from Santieb’s; a funky Orange Saco clutch with rickshaw and window motifs; a statement bracelet with rose-cut and full-cut diamonds from Neha Roongta.

FUN WITH KIDS: Oriental restaurant chain Chowman celebrated Children’s Day with the underprivileged kids of Basha, a charitable organisation, at the restaurant’s Ballygunge address. A cake cutting ceremony was in order, followed by a lunch of Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Hakka Noodles, Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet and Sour Fish. “It was a delight to see the kids enjoy their time and relish the lunch, especially the dessert... vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. This is the most memorable Children’s Day for me,” said Debaditya Chaudhury, managing director, Chowman. Picture: Pabitra Das
