I use tomato juice on my face for de-tanning — it brings back the glow on my face. Also, I use cucumber on my eyes for a relaxing effect. When I miss out on my facials, I use a pack of multani mitti mixed with rose water. I keep it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off. I make sure I include a lot of seasonal fresh fruits in my diet. |
I am over 26 years old with a fair complexion and normal skin. Could you please suggest a daily natural cleansing, toning and moisturising routine for healthy and glowing skin. I also have an oily nose which causes lots of blackheads. Please help me with a natural remedy to cure it.

It appears that you have combination skin since the oiliness and your lack of proper skin care routine have led to blackheads. Wipe your skin clean twice a day with rose water to which you have added some honey — 100ml of rose water should have 2tsp honey. You can even store this in a bottle. Massage your skin with 1tsp of honey and wash off after 10 minutes. This should be done daily. Apply a face mask made from grated cucumber, 2tsp sandalwood powder and 1tsp Fuller’s earth once a week.
I am a 17-year-old girl. Although my complexion is fair, the skin on my waist and stomach is dark. A friend suggested exfoliating but I don’t know how to do it at home. Please help.

Exfoliating is another word for scrubbing off dead skin and your friend’s advice was correct. Take jau atta and mix with milk and use this daily before bathing as a scrub. You should mix 3tbs of the atta with enough milk to make a smooth paste and scrub on the affected areas in a circular motion. This should be continued for at least 3-4 weeks for best results.
