It’s right on top of the pile of superfoods that are trending worldwide, which means a lot of innovation around quinoa is in store for health-conscious folks. 
Cafe Pranah on Hazra Road has designed a new menu around this seed loaded with nutrients. 
“This menu is mainly for people who don’t have too many gluten-free options. Also, enough wasn’t being done with quinoa, so we decided to play with it a bit as it’s so versatile. It took us three months of trial to compile the final menu,” said the chef-cum-owner of Cafe Pranah, Rahul Arora.

Mexican Quinoa Bowl: A wholesome meal by itself, the bowl has home-made salsa that lends the dish a tangy touch. Mexican spices add the punch while assorted vegetables give it the much-needed crunch. Rs 229
 
Oat and Quinoa Pancake: A healthy (read tasty) version of British pancakes, this dish will satiate your guilty pleasure! To balance the simple flavour of the pancakes, there’s yogurt, honey and candied mango to go with it.

Chicken Quinoa Salad: As soon as you take a spoonful of the salad, the first flavour you get is that of a home-made dressing — a little tangy and full of flavours. Fruits and vegetables like olives, beans and assorted bell peppers make it a fresh feast.

Quinoa Upma: A breakfast option, the upma tastes fresh with the right balance of flavours. Tempered with mustard seeds and curry leaves, this quinoa dish is comforting and easy on the palate.

Quinoa Egg Scramble: A healthy twist to a classic snack, the Quinoa Egg Scramble has just the right amount of creaminess to it. Quinoa adds texture  and lends an earthy flavour.

Quinoa Halwa: Sinful, rich and gluten-free, this halwa (Rs 109) does have ghee and sugar, but the main ingredient, quinoa, gives the dish a flavour that you wouldn’t normally expect from the superfood. “This is undoubtedly one of my top picks and also, one of the most difficult quinoa dishes that I have come up with. Quinoa flour doesn’t act like regular flour because there’s no starch, making it difficult,” said Rahul.
