Being a part of the service industry, we don’t have the luxury of enjoying two full days of fun and fiesta in a week. After all, one has to work if the need arises. But yes, I do try not to hit the studio all weekend long. That said, Saturdays are devoted to all things designing. At times, it gets rather hectic what with making sketches and samples, checking fits and rounds of client meetings. The madness continues until around six-thirty in the evening.

Once I leave my studio though, I try and get into weekend mode as soon as possible. A quick shower and change later, I drive down to a friend’s place. This is usually where the gang congregates for some weekend unwinding. We have a round of drinks and a little later, all of us eat out at some restaurant or the other. Here again, we have our favourites and stick to a handful of restaurants specialising in seafood, Thai or Continental fare.

Late night revelry comes courtesy Roxy, our favourite lounge at The Park. I just love that place for its international look and feel. Secondly and most importantly, my friends and I feel comfortable there. No wonder then that we’re usually at Roxy till the wee hours of the morning.

If Saturday nights are about partying hard, Sundays are laidback and lazy. There’s nothing more that I like than vegetating in front of the telly before sitting down to a no-holds-barred Bengali lunch. Here, let me add, mangsho is a must! Chilling out at home with my family is on the cards till about five in the evening. And sometimes, if I feel like dragging myself away from all that relaxation, I might just hook up with friends and catch the latest movie.
