My Weekend

My Saturdays and Sundays are, as I like to say, ‘house full’. I’m always out of my own home, yet at the same time, I’m filling up someone else’s house ? anchoring some television show or the other. So, most weekends translate into work for me.

But on the rare occasion when I do get a weekend all to myself, I make it a point to have a late night. That’s because every single day of the week, I have to rise and shine as early as five in the morning, as I host a morning radio show. Naturally then I really look forward to Saturday nights ? not that I hit the nightclubs or anything of the sort. I just enjoy chilling out at home with my wife, Soma and our three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Muskaan.

Also, whenever a free weekend comes calling, I religiously eat out at any of my favourite restaurants. Besides this, my weekends also mean movie mania. I have a huge DVD collection and if I’m not tuned into one of these, I make it a point to catch a movie at a multiplex. While I’m hooked to all kinds of films, I especially love comedies. The most recent one I saw though was Malamaal Weekly, which I regretted later as it was an illogical movie.

Sunday afternoons are c/ my boudi as she often whips up a lavish Bengali lunch for my family and me. She’s an excellent cook and an experimental one at that ? so eating at her place is always a pleasure. But as evening draws near, I begin to get a bit depressed at the thought of the weekend coming to an end.
