Rahul Sharma - Musician Escaping To Panchgani And Eating Out AS TOLD TO SUSHMITA BISWAS Published 22.04.06, 12:00 AM

Classical concerts usually happen on the weekends so I hardly get any time to relax on a Saturday or Sunday. If not concerts, then it’s some album launch or the other, which keeps me busy and on the move. My latest album, which is called White and released by Times Music has been launched in Mumbai recently. The launch kept me busy for quite a few days.

Working throughout the week leaves me feeling pretty exhausted, and so relaxing at home is the only natural option for me. When I am at home, I like to unwind simply by listening to some good music.

But if I have relatively no work on Fridays and Saturdays, then I make the most of it by driving down to nearby Panchgani with my friends. It’s one of my favourite places where I can just go and enjoy the beauty of nature. Since I take a group of friends along, we make it a point to go for nature walks and do some star-gazing. My getaways to Panchgani always give me immense mental peace. It almost has a sort of healing effect.

However if I am in Mumbai, then on Saturdays, I wake up early at around 6.30 in the morning and head straight to the gym. After working out for an hour or so, I sit down for my riyaaz, which goes on for a couple of hours. On Saturday evenings, I like to go and meet my friends in town or eat out at the Pearl of Orient at the Ambassador Hotel. My other favourite eating joints are Olive in Bandra and Bade Miyan at Colaba.

I am also a film-buff and so catching all the latest movies is a must on weekends.
