Saba Ali Khan - Jewellery Designer Shopping Sprees, Reading And Eating Out AS TOLD TO CHITRA PAPNAI Published 04.03.06, 12:00 AM

Since I work from my house there is no concept of a weekend for me. At times I take a break in the middle of the week. But yes, Sunday is the day when my friends are also free, so we meet up and go out to eat or watch a movie.

It’s so ironic ? on a Sunday I get up early, around nine in the morning as compared to weekdays. I also get my work organised be it replying to e-mails and a number of other things.

I enjoy shopping sprees on weekends. My favourite shopping stops in Delhi are GK market and Sarojini Nagar ? you can get some really interesting stuff there. Whenever there’s time at my disposal, I love reading novels. These days I’m reading a novel by author Maureen Child, which is called Some Kind of Wonderful ? it is romantic and heart-warming, and also inspiring in a way.

Unlike many people, I do not go to a spa or gym on weekends. I’d rather catch up on the latest movies. Most recently, I watched Pride and Prejudice, which I quite enjoyed. I love to eat good food and my favourite eating joint in Delhi is Big Chill. The food there is great and the desserts are amazing ? I just love to gorge on their fat-free cheese-cake.

The weekend is also a time when I call up my family and chat with them. Unlike abroad, where you can drive down to the countryside on weekends, there aren’t enough places around Delhi to visit. There is Jaipur, but if given a choice I would love to spend time with friends at Pataudi Palace, which is about a one-and-half-hour drive from Delhi. That’s my favourite getaway and makes for the most fabulous weekend.
