My weekends have brightened up ever since my husband joined me in Mumbai. When we got married, he was based in Delhi, while I had to move to Mumbai to fulfil professional obligations. So, weekends were usually dull affairs, and I had to contend with whiling away time by myself or maybe catching up with friends.

But some five months ago my husband too moved to Mumbai and we’ve been having a blast since then. Normally, I shoot for Woh Rehne Wali Mehelon Ki even on weekends. So we get out in the evenings, have a quiet time together or perhaps catch a movie. We usually avoid Bollywood potboilers and prefer more meaningful films like Iqbal and Maqbool.

Movie over, we head to a nice restaurant for dinner. I simply can’t get enough of Chinese food, and my two favourite Chinese restaurants in Mumbai are Legacy of China and Mainland China. I guess I picked up my passion for Oriental cuisine during my childhood stay in Calcutta. Though I’ve never been to Calcutta’s famous China Town, I did gorge on Chinese delicacies at Park Street eateries and as a result I begin to crave for Chinese food when the week comes to a close.

Whenever I do manage to get a day off during the weekend, we take long drives to Pune or Lonavala. I have the fondest memories of a recent drive to Lonavala. The weather was perfect and the beautiful landscape made it a day worth remembering. In fact, if you ask me, that day was just how I’d like my weekends to be!
