More often than not, I work over the weekend doing shows and shoots. But whenever I have a free weekend, I go all out to make the most of it, spending it with my family and close friends.
I’m an early riser and Saturdays are no exception. So, I’m up and about at seven in the morning. A quick breakfast of fruits is followed by a good two-hour session at the neighbourhood gym. After I finish up there, I head home and sit down to a huge breakfast that usually comprises brown bread, eggs, non-fat yoghurt and more. After all this eating, I can’t really do much and so, it’s just lazing about at home for me ? flipping through magazines or just chatting with my parents. Lunch is a light affair and the afternoons are almost always devoted to the tube. I especially like watching Animal Planet. I’m an animal lover and would ideally love to have a dog. My parents would have a fit though, so I have to content myself with some easier-to-take-care-of fish. Saturday evenings usually have a movie on the menu after which dinner is at some restaurant or the other. My haunts include Around the Corner ? they make delicious soup ? and Jalapenos on Wood Street for Mexican food ? my personal favourite cuisine! I used to be a big-time party animal, but now I find that I’ve grown out of it. I seem to prefer the more intimate interaction of an adda with friends to dancing the night away in a nightclub.
Now Sundays are not altogether a different story even though I get up a bit later, at around 9am. I follow the same fruit-work-out-breakfast routine. The only things that differs is lunch, which is a typical Bengali spread whipped up by my mom. After lunch, I spend the rest of the day with my family ? watching television or catching up with relatives. It’s a great way, I feel, to spend a Sunday.
