I recently bought a new house and now love staying at home on weekends. This is the time when I catch up with all my friends who come over to my house. We chat endlessly and basically just laze around. There’s no better way to spend Saturdays and Sundays!
The one thing I try and avoid on weekends is stepping out of the house. You see, this is also the time to catch up on some sleep. Sometimes, my parents who are based in Calcutta come to visit me in Mumbai. And when my sister Raima is in town, she always joins us too. So it’s like a family reunion ? always a special time!
The weekend is also a time to hone my cooking skills. I have always enjoyed cooking. Be it Indian, Thai or Continental food, cooking is always fun especially when my family is around.
While most people shop during the weekend, I am averse to shopping and avoid going out because I find it a waste of time. It’s only once in a blue moon that I go out and shop. Since I am a hardcore movie buff, we buy lots of DVDs and watch movies at home. Working out or hitting the gym over the weekend is also a big no-no for me, as I am a very lazy person. But if I had to venture out at all, I would go out for dinner to any of the good restaurants.
It’s not that I’m free on each and every weekend. If I’m working, then I give top priority to my work. Partying is limited to film functions and only if it’s really important to attend. I also love listening to music ? any kind of music. But all in all, it’s the quality time that I get to spend with my family and friends that makes my weekends worthwhile.
