Indranil Sen / Singer Live Shows And Adda With Friends AS TOLD TO SREERADHA D. BASU Published 20.11.04, 12:00 AM

Unlike most other people, my weekend starts from Monday and gets over only by Thursday night. That?s because, come Friday and all through Saturday and Sunday, my schedule is choc-a-bloc with shows and concerts that more or less ensure that I don?t get a moment to myself. In fact, it?s something that I take so much for granted that I usually even try and keep my recordings for other days.

Even at home, my family, including my children, Rai and Rishi, are pretty much used to my erratic schedule. Which is why even though I make it a point to spend time with my kids every weekday when they get back from school, they know that they?ll hardly get to see their father over the weekends. But since that?s the way it?s always been, they are remarkably understanding about it. Having said that, however, if I do get a rare weekend off, all of us make our way to Vivekananda Park in the evening to dig into the delicious phuchkas and alu-dam.

On these weekends off, getting together with my friends for an adda is also a must. Most of my friends go back to my school days in Patha Bhavan and whenever we meet up, we play cards, reminisce about the good old days and generally have a blast. I?m not really into dining out, but we make sure there?s plenty of good food at hand by ordering in from our favourite joints. But having said that, as far as I?m concerned, nothing can beat my mom?s home-cooked food.

My weekends, in the conventional sense, may be few and far between, but I wouldn?t have it any other way. I love the way my life is going and believe in living it to the fullest.
