Vasundhara’s pointers

• This Poila Baisakh, invest in a floral neckpiece. Fresh and fun.

• Summer jewellery has to be maximal while you wear less. You don’t want to be wearing claustrophobic chokers and get sweaty and all. Go for pieces which are simple yet effective. Slip on a cool neckpiece or a stud or a cocktail ring and your look is set.

• Invest in a neckpiece that will see you through the day as well as night. You can always mix and match.

• This season I have used a lot of diamante, which adds a touch of bling without being over the top. There are white and champagne colours.

• If you want to try colours in summer, go for light turquoise, pink tourmaline or champagne and yellow diamond kind of a colour palette.

• Pearls, of course, are for all seasons, more so in sweltering summers.

• Rose gold is a hot favourite too. It has been trending for the last six months. It’s got a pink tinge and it’s different from your regular gold. It is also young and fresh.

If black is your colour for a cocktail party, play up your accessories. A touch of diamante is what Vasundhara suggested for Asche Abar Shabor actress Diti Saha to go with the 431-88 ensemble by Shweta Kapur. “It looks contemporary with chain and diamante balls. I have also used these natural stones, they are like rocks, silver rocks… it is a combination of all that. These neckpieces look really stylish but they are not too heavy. They fall very easily and give you a grand look,” says Vasundhara.
Weddings give you the licence to go bold and statement-y. The trick is to keep the rest of the look subtle and accessorise with chunky pieces. Go all out. Vasundhara gave Sauraseni a set from her Reverence range —   neckpiece, hairpiece, earrings, a really large cocktail ring and a bracelet to complement Rimzim Dadu’s draped sari. “Nature-inspired motifs always look fresh,” says Vasundhara.
It’s fusion chic for an engagement party. Aami Ashbo Phirey actress Sauraseni Maitra dresses up in a white Anand Bhushan gown and Vasundhara’s diamante range — earrings, neckpiece, ring and another neckpiece worn as a tiara. Understated but a conversation starter.
Easy breezy is the mantra for the day. Go with a flowy silhouette and slip on that one highlight accessory to seal your look. The Divyam Mehta ensemble on Sauraseni is accessorised by detachable Shefali Rawat Agarwal earrings and a chunky ring by Vasundhara, while Diti’s sharara-crop top-jacket combination by Zoraya was accentuated by Shefali Rawat Agarwal’s jadau-and-kundan earrings.
