It’s fascinating how one tiny rodent could have held the imagination and been part of the formative years of so many of us across the globe for over 80 years. This octogenarian made his first appearance on celluloid in a test screening of Plane Crazy on this day, in 1928. The screening was a disaster, and that is why Steamboat Willie, released a few months later, is considered as the rodent’s debut. Thank you Walt Disney for giving us Mickey Mouse!
