Sunil Jogi (Delhi)
LOL moment: Mujhe unse sahanubhuti hai jinka Baba Ram Rahim se naata hai ya Punjab National Bank mein khata hai.
Parth Naveen (Pratapgarh, Rajasthan)
LOL moment: One day God said, “Tell me, what wish do you want me to grant you?” I said, “God, please make me single once again.” God replied, “Beta, maine tumhe mannat mangne ke liye kaha tha, jannat mangne ke liye nahi.”

Hemant Pandey (Kanpur)
LOL moment: I said, “My wife doesn’t eat until I go home.” My friend replied, “Bhai, where do you find such wives these days?” I clarified, “Arre pagal, she waits for me to get home and cook!”
Padmini Sharma (Delhi)
Her moment: Aam si duniya mein kuch toh khaas hona chahiye
Dil jise chahe ussi ke paas hona chahiye
Dil dhadakna hi fakat kaafi nahi te zindagi
Dhadakne mein ishq ka ehsaas hona chahiye
Ashok Charan (Jaipur)
His words really hit home with the audience when he ended a poem with:
Main marte dum tak bhi apna sachcha farz nibhaunga
Par meri laash ko mile tiranga mar kar bhi jee jaunga

It wasn’t all comedy though. While Sunil Jogi, Hemant Pandey and Parth Naveen were the humorists, Ashok Charan brought the crowd to their feet with his patriotic poems and Padmini Sharma recited some of her works on love. Ajay Atapattu and Arun Gemini joined in later to close the show.

Club speak

“The Hasya Kavi Sammelan has been going on in our club for many years and it gets bigger every time. The poets who have come this time are celebrated across the country. Take Sunil Jogi, he is a Padma Shri awardee and the Hindi advisor at two central ministries. The other artistes have many accolades and awards under their belts as well. I am extremely glad to have them perform for us today,” said Shiv Kumar Lohia, president, Hindusthan Club.
