Eco-technologies will rule the future of fashion, feel many. Eco-friendly sustainable and efficient technologies that will help reduce waste are also being looked forward to in fabric and garment finishing.

Denim, one of the key fashion fabrics, is adapting itself to these changes fast, says Abhishek Yadav, the head of design for Spykar.

Among the upcoming technologies will help to use less water for the wash-effect in denims, says Yadav. This technology helps in reducing water usage and gives the desired wash-effect with less or no water being used. Conventionally water
is used as a carrier of chemicals and dyes while washing the raw garment, but the new technology uses air to do the same task.

Laser technology was being used for the same effect, says Yadav, but was expensive. The new technology is more affordable and this allows to get the dry processes performed on the denim without causing health issues, which are
concern with manual dry processing, he adds.

The second change is the reuse of natural fibres like cotton or linen for making yarn. This is a big advancement and will contribute a lot to the sustainability and green earth initiative, says Yadav.

Apart from these, there is a new development in the stretch feature of denims, he adds.

Recently there have been experiments going on with bi-stretch denim, which means the denim fabric will stretch both ways and this will be a regular feature for jeans very soon.
