While chic and stylish like the shirt itself, Paris is all about movement and schedules and a busy life.
Ishana Rai Sethia’s collections have always been a reflection of her frame of mind at the moment she’s designing them. Now as the designer is set for a new phase in her life — she’s leaving Calcutta for Singapore first and then Paris — she puts her personal thoughts into her autumn-winter 2017 line titled New Beginnings.
“This collection is about every day being a new beginning, every experience being a new beginning and every interaction being a new beginning because you learn and grow with each and so should your style. For me this is a very personal theme because as I am moving to Singapore and Paris at the end of this year, so quite literally it is a new beginning,” says Ishana, who has named each piece of this collection after a small French town that she hopes “to explore in the coming months”.
“There is so much to look forward to! But for me, I am most excited to explore the daily life of locals in both Singapore and Paris. I love people-watching and that is where most of my designs come from — everyday people. I am most excited to just be an everyday part of two very different cultures,” adds Ishana.
New Beginnings will be launched at The India Story, Swabhumi, between December 21 and 24.
