Spicy mutton and cheese on a thin pizza base = yum! If you aren’t too fond of mutton, try Kancha Lonka Dhone Pata Diye Murgir Pizza. For the veg lovers, there’s Mochar Ghonto Pizza.

A table heaped with food, good adda and catching up on the week that’s just gone by... now that’s an ideal Sunday brunch. If you want to make it more special, head to The Gateway Hotel EM Bypass where Sunday brunch is back in a new avatar. “We wanted to focus on fusion food this time and present something that you usually wouldn’t see anywhere else. The dishes are innovative and have a fresh touch,” said Deep Mitra Thakur, executive chef, The Gateway Hotel. t2 dug in, of course on a Sunday!

WHAT WE LOVED

Shorshe Ilish Ravioli

This beautiful fusion of Italian pasta and Bengali shorshe ilish reminds you that not all fusions are bad after all. Thin layers of pasta encasing the aromatic queen of fish with a dash of pungent mustard... ‘kya karein control nahin hota’!

Assorted Grills

Well-cooked prawns, squid and pomfret grilled with a choice of sauce and served hot? For us, this is a winner, hands down.

Appam with Masala Chingri

Bites of prawns cooked in a mildly-spicy gravy with crispy-edged appams, is light on the stomach.

And there’s more....

For all the health-conscious peeps, there’s a salad counter serving three varieties of lettuce and dressings. Garnish ingredients include bell peppers, mushrooms, sprouts, sun-dried tomatoes, chicken, shrimps and more.

Unlimited wine, vodka, beer and other spirits along with juices, ice teas make up the list of beverages. We loved the Kancha Aam Mojito, refreshing on a sultry afternoon.
If you always make space for desserts, take your pick from as many as 16 varieties. Think Mango Berry Gateaux, macarons, Fresh Fruit Yogurt and cupcakes.
Live counters will serve up quite a spread... from chaats to pizzas, pastas, pancakes and seafood grills.
Choose from Continental, Indian and fusion fare for the mains with dishes like Roast Lamb Rack with Mint Sauce, Scooped Potato with Broccoli Corn Ragout, Beef Wellington among others.

Soulful music to magic tricks — the entertainment goes beyond the platter. Round it off with some shopping... handmade home decor items, saris, dupattas....
