The launch party of Dutta’s was all about star power and retail therapy

The 3,500sq ft store was inaugurated by Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who was blown away by the collection

Dutta’s, a lifestyle space that boasts of exquisite carvings on stone, on Southern Avenue, hosted a gala launch party last month. The 3,500sq ft (approx) store was inaugurated by Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who was blown away by the collection of artefacts and the jewellery range called Akshita, made of precious and semi-precious stones. Special guest of the evening, Shilpa Shetty Kundra inaugurated the store. What did she love the most about Dutta’s? “If I could take one thing from here it would be the Ganpati. First time I saw an amalgamation of Shiv and Ganesha and I loved it,” she added.

“I loved the jewellery, they are so exquisite and contemporary at the same time. The fact that they have used semi-precious and precious gems is unique. Each piece is one a kind and so pretty,” said Shilpa, while holding the Twin Swan piece that’s encrusted with stones like butter jade, white agate, lapis lazuli and black tourmaline. All eyes were on Shilpa who looked stunning in an Anamika Khanna ensemble. So what was Shilpa’s take on the store? “The art is brilliant and praiseworthy, the craftsmanship is noteworthy. The artefacts are one of a kind, the store is unique and I want to wish them all the best,” said the actress.

And am sure it will have takers in the world and definitely in the country. There has been a lot of homework to finally put something like this and I can say this since I know Arijit. The stuff here is amazing and if anyone has any of the pieces, they should be proud,” said Prosenjit looking dapper in black.

Dev added a dash of sunshine at the party as he struck a pose with Shilpa. “This place is a must for art lovers and unless one comes here it’s difficult to believe all the amazing things that they have. Dutta’s is a paradise for people who are collectors of good art pieces,” said Dev who sported a beard for his upcoming film.

The first guest and buyer was Ghanshyam Mundhra who dropped in with his family. “I picked an artefact for my house. I am a huge art lover and I ensure whenever there is something related to art, I don’t miss it,” said the businessman.
