Waffles are Calcutta’s new love in dessert and the latest to tap into the craze is American Waffle House, with four outlets — Lake Gardens, Bhowanipore, Deshapriya Park and Lake Town offering 15 flavours.
Founders Shyamal Das and Swagata Debsharma want to distinguish their venture from the ones offering the Belgian criss-crossed dessert. “Waffle was not just from Belgium but developed by Americans too. It’s a universal product. If you’re a young waffle lover, drop in to take advantage of our student discounts. For others, there’s a monsoon discount till August 31,” said Shyamal and Swagata.
