Wooden flooring, comfortable sofas, sketches of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on the walls — what more do you need to get game night started? There is a projector screen in this room to watch live matches on. We loved the windows that have logos of the soccer clubs of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool F.C. There is another section looking towards the street, which can be booked for private parties.

What: Mavericks Cafe
Where: 18 Sarat Bose Road, 1st floor, Chakraberia
Timings: Monday to Thursday 9am to midnight, Friday to Sunday 9am to 3am

If sports and games are the way you love spending your time, then Mavericks Cafe is the place for you. The 1,200sq ft cafe is all about gaming and fun along with bites and hookah. The cafe that opened its gates last month is a 55-seater and has an all-vegetarian menu. The walls have illustrations of sports personalities and the rooms are dimly lit, which make it a perfect ambience for a game night.

“When I was 12 years old, my Counter Strike gaming name was Maverick. The term stands for a person who doesn’t follow the rules and I do not play by the rules either,” said Rohit Kapoor, who co-owns the cafe with Karan Shah.

WHAT T2 LIKED

Boardgames, a foosball table, books, games and a PS4 controller for you and your gang to have fun.
The entrance of the cafe is lit with a painting of Virat Kohli and the stairs are made attractive with quotes and phrases from famous TV series and soccer games.
