German auto major Volkswagen today unveiled a concept car as well as the latest version of the iconic Beetle at the 11th Auto Expo in a bid to increase its market share to 10 per cent by 2018. The company also unveiled its all-new Touareg SUV, which will be available in the market from April at all Volkswagen dealers.
Czech car maker Skoda, part of auto conglomerate Volkswagen, aims to sell 25,000 units of its compact car Rapid this year in India. “We had launched the Rapid in late 2011 and we are confident of selling 25,000 units this year,” Skoda CEO Winfried Vahland said. The Rapid is being manufactured in the company’s plant in Pune.
