New York, May 15 (PTI): The Wharton School has named a 300-seat auditorium after Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of the Reliance group.
The auditorium was dedicated at a special ceremony in Philadelphia yesterday with a multi-million dollar gift from Anil Ambani, the chairman of Reliance-ADAG.
Dhirubhai’s wife Kokilaben said, “I consider myself a proud wife and Indian as we commemorate the life and legacy of one of the world’s greatest wealth creators of the modern era — my husband, the late Dhirubhai Ambani.” Kokilaben.
“We are honoured to have this opportunity of paying tribute to Ambani and the companies he built,” Wharton dean Patrick Harker said.
“We are grateful for this gift from Anil Ambani and are proud to name this prominent facility after Dhirubhai Ambani,” he said.
The auditorium will be in the Jon M. Huntsman hall of the University of Pennsylvania. In June 1998, the Wharton School had awarded the dean’s medal to Dhirubhai Ambani for setting an outstanding example of leadership.
