The retail chain, part of Kishore Biyani-led Future Group, said it has launched mobile site shop, bigbazaar.com, where customers can make online purchase of food, grocery and certain non-essential items after putting in their pincode and selecting the nearest store. A store pick-up option is also available wherein the customer can pay online and visit the store to pick up the order. In Calcutta, the service is already functional with stores offering time slots depending on their capacity, said Manish Agarwal, who heads the eastern region business.

Meanwhile, Keventer Agro on Thursday said it has partnered online food delivery platforms — Swiggy and Zomato — for home delivery of milk, banana and frozen food.

“As the Bengal government has announced that non-essential items can be sold online and for home delivery, we have listed many products on the platform. The customer can make their choice and we will home deliver. Lot of summer essentials for fashion, products of home and kitchen and electronics are also listed on the online platform,” he said.
