The schoolgirl who was kidnapped in Barh from in front of her school was found on Wednesday, the police said.
The cops refused to divulge more details till a formal report is filed. Earlier, they insisted that it was a case of elopement but the girl's mother Kiran Devi had said: "Let us assume for a moment that she has eloped. But the job of the police is to find her if I have lodged a formal complaint."
Though this case was solved, there were three fathers who are relentlessly trying to find their missing children but each time police let them down with their shoddy probes.
The sons of Kankerbagh resident Rakesh Kumar, Ghaziabad dweller Om Prakash and Naik Rai of Maner are missing since December 12, 13 and July 14.
Rakesh, a small-time businessman, said: "His name is Rishikesh and he is just four years old. On December 12, he, along with his mother, had visited his grandmother's place. While his mother was chatting, Rishikesh was playing outside the house and suddenly went missing. I have lodged an FIR and on Wednesday met the SSP. I hope that the police help me find my only son."
The same was the case with Om Prakash. His son Kaushal Kishore (27)left home in Ghaziabad on November 24 and didn't return. His father received several calls for ransom after which a special team of the Patna police arrested Manoj Kumar, a kidnapper and the main accused, from Calcutta on December 18. "I am yet to get my son back. Manoj before his arrest had told me over the phone on December 12 that I can take the help of the police but then the ransom demand would go up from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. Manoj has been arrested but where is my son?" Prakash said on Wednesday.
The two fathers had turned up at the SSP's office on Wednesday. "The Kankerbagh police have been directed to print advertisements in newspapers and carry the information in local channels about the missing kid. The case of Kishore is different. We are trying to nab Awadhesh, an accomplice of Manoj. He told us Kishore is with him. We had raided his Nawada hideout but he had fled before we could reach. The case will open up once Awadhesh is arrested," Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said.
For middle-aged Naik Rai of Maner, his hopes to find his son have almost diminished. "I think he will never be found. But at the same time I still hope sometime that he would turn up at my doorstep some day," Rai said.
Rai's son, Bunty Kumar (4) went missing quite like Rishikesh on July 14. Former Patna SSP Vikas Vaibhav and his team had tried to recover him and politicians were at his home to console the family too. "No one comes now," Rai said.
