Patna, July 20: Three people were arrested today from Sitamarhi and the state capital in connection with the murder of bank manager Ramswarth Ram and subsequent loot of Rs 30 lakh on July 2.
The trio have confessed to their crime and divulged the names of their associates involved. Rs 3.64 lakh was also seized from them. Ramswarth was the manager of Dumri Kala branch of the Punjab National Bank in Sitamarhi.
A team conducted a raid at a house under the jurisdiction of Ram Krishna Nagar police station in Patna and arrested Saroj Kumar Singh and his accomplice Ranjit Kumar Singh. Another team raided the hideouts of one Arjun Singh, a resident of Itiharwa village in Sitamarhi and nabbed him.
“We have formed a team to crack the case. We have apprehended three of the nine members. Rs 3.64 lakh, which the trio had received as their share, has been seized,” Sitamarhi superintendent of police P.K. Sinha said over phone from Sitamarhi.
