Patna: Police have decided to set up a temporary outpost at Ishopur village under the jurisdiction of Phulwarisharif police station on the outskirts of the capital.

The move comes in the wake of attack on a procession on Saturday evening. The situation took a violent turn after two groups clashed with each other. The official vehicle of deputy inspector-general (central range) Rajesh Kumar was also pelted with stones.

Patna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manu Maharaaj said on Sunday that a  temporary outpost will be set up at the village soon in the wake of frequent incidents of violence in the region. Additional armed forces have been deployed in the locality as a precautionary measure, he added.

He admitted that some criminals took advantage of the situation and added fuel to the fire, leading to skirmishes.
