Patna: The Hindustan Awami Morcha Secular (HAMS) Gareeb Mahasamellan will be held at Gandhi Maidan on Sunday in which former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will share the dais along with Congress leaders.
Preparations are already being made at the ground and supporters of Jitan Ram Manjhi have already started coming to Patna.
Manjhi announced that he has invited leaders of RJD and Congress to attend the programme which includes leaders of opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and Rabri Devi from RJD. From the Congress, Manjhi has invited Bihar Congress working president Kaukab Quadri and Congress Legislative Party leader Sadanand Singh.
"RJD leaders have given their consent to attend our programme and as far Congress leaders are concerned they have informed me that the new Congress in-charge of Bihar Shaktisinh Gohil is coming to Patna tomorrow and they would be busy with him. However, they have said that Congress would send some representative," Manjhi said while addressing the press at his 12 M Strand Road residence.
Manjhi was accompanied by HAMS state unit president Brishen Patel, HAMS national spokesperson Danish Rizwan, the state president of the HAMS women cell Anamika Paswan and others. Manjhi clarified the reason behind leaving the NDA fold claiming that none of his 34 cabinet decisions was implemented and the demands were thrown in the garbage box. He cited another reason that despite repeated appeals, even a coordination committee was not formed which forced him to quit NDA.
He said he has the assurance from the Grand Alliance that a common minimum programme and coordination committee would be formed for smooth functioning between RJD, Congress and HAMS.
Clearing the air over the rally, Manjhi stressed that it is not a Dalit Mahasamellan but a Gareeb Mahasamellan in which all poor people are invited irrespective of any caste. "We talk about poor not about any caste. Poor can be from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Extremely Backward Classes, minorities and even upper castes as well. The rally is called for their rights not any particular caste," Manjhi said.
