Patna, May 26: A seven-year-old student of a private school at Khan Mirza under Patna City’s Sultanganj police station was allegedly molested by a teacher who gave her private tuition classes.
The girl’s father lodged an FIR against the teacher today.
The Class III student alleged that one Guddu John, who runs a private coaching centre at another school in Sultanganj, had misbehaved with her. She complained to her father yesterday that the teacher had lured her with chocolates on three successive days since May 23 after the class gave over around 4.30pm.
“According to the complaint lodged, the girl had started taking private tuitions in a few subjects since May 23. The teacher allegedly started committing the crime from the first day itself. John used to prevent the girl from leaving the tuition after the classes gave over by he luring her with chocolates. Thereafter, he used to misbehave with her. On May 25, the girl protested against the crime and started weeping. John then gave her a handful of chocolates again and asked her to stay silent and not to divulge anything to anybody.” The girl kept silent for the moment, but complained to her father as soon as she reached home.
The girl’s father, who runs a business, went to Sultanganj police station and lodged a complaint against John.
“The man is absconding and the police are trying to nab him. The police will quiz the other students at the tuition class. The girl is in a state of shock at present. The police will try and talk to her later,” an officer at Sultanganj police station said.
Post-mortem report
The post-mortem report of 15-year-old Nagmani, who died under mysterious circumstances on Thursday, revealed three injury marks. Police, however, said the wounds were minor and unlikely to cause the boy’s death.
“The post-mortem report shows three injury marks on his body. But the injuries are minor and the police feel they cannot result in death of the victim,” a police officer said.
“The police went to the school today and checked records. Documents do not have Nagmani’s name. He could have been enrolled in a different name,” another police officer said.
“The family said they were in Karbigahiya area on Thursday evening when they saw the four boys in an ambulance with Nagmani’s body. They said three of them were caught, while one fled. The three boys said Nagmani was sitting on a freezer and came into contact with a live wire and fell unconscious. According to the boys, they were taking him to the hospital when the family arrived there. They panicked and tried to flee,” the officer added.
