Patna, July 30: The high court bench of Justice V.N. Sinha today stayed the construction of a mall by filmmaker Prakash Jha at Bela industrial area in Muzaffarpur.

Hearing a petition filed by one Arun Kumar Singh, the bench issued the directive. The petitioner alleged that Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority had wrongly allotted his land to Jha.

The high court bench of Justice Mandhata Singh adjourned hearing for a week of a petition filed by former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati seeking quashing of a criminal case lodged against her for alleged violation of model code of conduct and motor vehicle act while campaigning for his party candidates in 2005 Bihar Assembly elections.
