A total of Rs 50,000 was collected in fines during the drive conducted in the New Capital circle, while an FIR against a person was also lodged.

In the Bankipore circle, the drive covered Bhikhna Pahari area and Rs 48,000 in fines was collected in the drive, while in Patna City circle, the drive was conducted on Ashok Rajpath and Rs 1,16,200 was collected in fines. Penalties of Rs 2,13,000 was collected in the Kankerbagh circle's drive that was conducted from Kanti Factory Road to 90 Feet Road and from Munachak Road to 90 feet Road in the Kankerbagh circle.

The New Capital circle executive officer, Shailesh Kumar, said during the Saturday drive, a portion of Gate number- 1 of the P&M Mall was demolished. He said the road construction department staff would on Sunday measure how much the mall had encroached on the road.

"Right now, one major problem we are facing is that we don't have maps of certain localities such as the area after AN College on Boring Road and also in Rajapul area. The road construction department has been directed to measure the land as soon as possible so that drive could be initiated further," he said.

Shailesh said that Sunday's drive would cover areas from outside Loyola High School to Kurji Mor among other places.

District magistrate Kumar Ravi monitored the drive conducted from Rajapul to Bans Ghat. He instructed officials to ensure immediate eviction of encroachers after the measurement of land and asked to lodge FIR against people illegally occupying government land.

Ravi asked Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (Pesu) officials to remove electric poles that had been installed wrongly in the middle of many city roads and shift them. He asked Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) officials to remove telephone phones which had become non-functional.

Ravi also directed the district control room in-charge, Shailendra Bharti, to ensure follow-up of the encroachment drive by revisiting the places wherein anti-encroachment drive had been conducted and he asked to take necessary action against encroachers if they had returned.
