Teenagers Kajal Fitkiriwala and Swaraj Priyadarshi beat eight more finalists to be declared Horlicks Wizkids 2013, Patna, on Tuesday.

The competition brought at least 1,000 school students from Patna district to SK Memorial Hall.

Horlicks Wizkids is a personality-based competition where participants are evaluated on different parameters, including intelligence, creativity and communication skills. The 10 finalists — Kajal, Swaraj, Abhishek, Lakshya, Twinkle, Shivangi, Mansi, Harshit, Kumar Gaurav and Shatakshi — were assessed on 100 marks.

Kajal, a Class XII student of Radiant International School, and Swaraj, a Class XI student of Shivam School, scored 74.5 and 73 respectively, to be declared winners this year.

They will take part in Horlicks Wizkids South Asia Finals in Bangalore in November.

However, if either Kajal or Swaraj are unable to take part in the South Asia finals, Shatakshi, a Class XI student of DPS, Patna, will go ahead. The five best participants coming out of Horlicks Wizkids South Asia 2013 would win scholarships and a trip to Germany.

On the stage, Swaraj, who could be one of the participants to bag the lucrative prizes later this year, was asked to reveal the three things that stand out in his personality. Without missing a beat, he replied: “Hard work, which no one can take away from me. Second, my logic and third, my character and principles.”

Swaraj is among the rising stars among the city’s youths. Last year, he won DexChallenge, an entrepreneurship contest organised by Dexterity Global, competing against at least 50 students. He was also invited to New York Global Young Leaders Summit, 2013, to share his views on leadership.
