Cashing in on the universal appeal of music, BJP minister Giriraj Singh is drumming up support for Narendra Modi to be the next Prime Minister of the country.

Animal and fish resources minister Singh, a diehard supporter of Modi, is busy distributing a music CD with songs in favour of making Modi the Prime Minister in spite of alliance partner JD(U) hinting at Modi being unacceptable to it.

Asked about the distribution of such CDs, Singh told The Telegraph: “Yes, I have distributed music CDs among other BJP leaders and there is nothing wrong in it. The music CD projects Narendra Modi as the next PM. We all want him to be the next PM and he is extremely capable of accepting the big role.” He, however, did not disclose among whom he has distributed the music CDs.

Titled PM Banega Narendra Modi, the CD has 10 tracks, including eight Hindi and two Gujarati songs composed, sung and written by Rocky Mittal, a 38-year-old Haryana-based singer. The CD cover carries Modi’s picture with Delhi’s Red Fort in the background.

Speaking to The Telegraph over phone from Kaithal, Rocky said: “Recently, I sent 30 CDs of my album to minister Giriraj Singh in Bihar. He said 30 was enough and if required, he would get them copied to distribute them among Narendra Modi supporters.”

Rocky also claimed that he does all this for Modi and does not charge a single paisa for the CD. “I just distribute it to every Modi supporter free of cost. So far, I have distributed 80,000 CDs of this particular album without charging a single paisa,” said Rocky.

Asked about his passion, Rocky said: “Yeh meri deewangi hai apne bhagwan ke prati (Its my madness towards my god). Once Modi becomes the Prime Minister, he will make the nation stronger than ever. If development is taking place in Bihar, why are people still looking for jobs in other states?”

The album has tracks like PM Banega Narendra Modi and Deewana Modi Ka Sara Hindustan, Vipaskhi Bhi Karta Hai Gungaan.

Singh’s behaviour has disappointed JD(U) leaders. A senior JD(U) leader, preferring anonymity, said: “Nitishji has already made this point very clear that Modi is not acceptable as the prime ministerial candidate at any cost. In spite of all this, if leaders like Giriraj Singh uses such cheap tactics, then it is nothing more than harming the alliance, which is currently stable in the state.”
