Patna: Magistrates and cops will be deployed at popular spots such as the zoo, Eco Park, Kumhrar Park, Veer Kuer Singh Park and Hanuman Mandir to prevent nuisance by revellers out enjoying January 1.

"Police in plainclothes will be deployed at malls, restaurants and market places. Night patrolling on important roads will continue till January 2," said Patna SP (central) D. Amarkesh. More than 12 quick response teams will work round-the-clock in shifts, he added.

Vehicle-checking has been intensified, including with breathalysers. Police have also been carrying out special checking drives in hotels, said DSP (law and order) Shibli Nomani. From 12noon to 7pm, movement of autorickshaws from Hartali Mor to Dumra Chowking (near Patna Zoo) will be restricted. Similarly, no vehicles will be allowed to move on the eastern side of Eco Park. Parking will not be allowed outside Patna Junction's Mahabir Mandir, Rajvanshi Nagar Hanuman Mandir and at Kumhrar Park.
