Patna, Feb. 6: Ashok Pathak, husband of Rupam Pathak, prime accused in BJP MLA Rajkishore Keshari murder case, will most likely meet his wife at Purnea Jail tomorrow.

Ashok will be meeting Rupam for the first time after the latter was arrested for allegedly stabbing the legislator in full public view.

Ashok, principal of Imphal-based Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School, had last met Rupam in October 2010 when she had paid him a visit there.

The Telegraph had reported last week that Ashok was planning to come to Bihar to meet Rupam this month. He could not come earlier because of the ongoing examinations of the couple’s two children.

“I came to Patna day before yesterday. I was planning to come for quite sometime but things were not working out. Now that I have come, I will definitely meet Rupam. I will start for Purnea this evening and tomorrow being a Monday, I hope to see her and talk to her. My mother-in-law and the lawyers will also be there,” Ashok told The Telegraph over the phone.

Rupam’s court hearing is slated on February 11. “Yes, I will be present during the court hearing. I am talking with Rupam’s lawyer and he has briefed me everything about the developments so far. I am on holiday till February 12 and will leave for Imphal on February 13. My daughter’s board examinations are slated from March 1 and I have to be with her and take care of her studies besides other things,” Ashok said. Ashok said he was always standing by his wife’s side. “I am always there for her. She had told me earlier about the harassment she was facing but we had chosen to keep quiet owing to social obligations. But when matters went overboard, we had lodged an FIR with the local police station there. But we had to take back the complaint as they were threatening us. I am always there for my wife. My mother-in-law and the lawyer are taking care of her. I have to be in Imphal to take care of our children,” he added.
