Patna, Nov 12: Bihar health minister Ashwini Choubey today came under attack from the state Opposition for his pledge to present special health card to babies born at 11:11 am on 11.11.11.

RJD general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Ramkripal Yadav said: “The announcement made by the health minister will only create discrimination in society.”

The RJD leader further said: “Why only reward the babies born on that precise time and minute? What about the other babies born on the same date but at different timings? Are they not as special as those born on the precise time?”

Yesterday, Choubey had announced free medical treatment at all government hospitals for children born at 11.11am, till they turn 18.

Ramkripal claimed Choubey is superstitious. “It seems that the minister is very superstitious and believes in illogical practices,” he said, adding, “Choubey should open a black-magic institute in Patna.”
