The board of studies for each subject comprises of the head of the subject concerned, seven subject experts from the University and two other subject experts from other varsities.
The revision of syllabus also gains importance as the university is planning to introduce choice based credit system (CBCS) as per the directive of the University Grants Commission from next year. Sources said, as per the directive, all universities will have a uniform syllabus.
Amarendra Mishra, a statistics teacher, said the basic motive behind the revision was to include new teachings and findings in the concerned subjects, as many departments were still following the old syllabus.
For inclusion of new topics and subjects in the syllabus, the board of studies will also study the syllabus of different universities such as Delhi University, BHU and others. The UGC has also put up a revised syllabus on their website.
