Madhubani, Aug. 8: Bimal Kumar, the lecturer of psychology at CMB College, Ghoghadiha, rarely gets to speak on Freud and Jung. Instead, he answers letters that the college has received.
Bimal was appointed by Bihar State University Service Commission in 1996 to take graduate classes and posted to Lalit Narayan Mithila University. The varsity sent him to the college in Madhubani district. However, 15 years on, the psychology department of the college has not been recognised and neither has Bimal been transferred to any other college.
In the absence of classes, he renders the service of an office clerk.
Bimal told The Telegraph: “I wanted to teach students because that would give me job satisfaction. But the college where I have been posted does not have affiliation for a graduate-level degree course in psychology. Without affiliation, students cannot take admission.”
He added: “I have approached the university authorities a number of times to get transfer to another college, which has an affiliated psychology department. No action, however, has been taken so far, though the college inspector and the university dean visited the college and submitted their report six months ago.
