Buddhist monks stage a march in protest against the YouTube video depicting the Mahabodhi Society of India’s general secretary, D Rewath Thero, in an alleged indecent act. They started the march from the 80-ft statue of the Buddha to the Mahabodhi Society of India’s Bodhgaya branch office covering nearly a kilometre. The six-second clip purportedly shows Thero engaged in a kiss with a woman. Bhikkhu Priyapala, the chief monk of Chakma Buddhist monastery in Bodhgaya, said even touching a woman is prohibited for a monk wearing civara (holy robe).
