Payment of power bills in the state capital has hit the fast lane and strives for further improvement.
South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd, buoyed by the success of its 10 any time payment (ATP) machines in the state capital, has made nine such additional machines operational in the last fortnight and would install another at the Board Colony power sub-station in west Patna within a week.
The excitement was palpable in the words of Harendra Kumar, who came to deposit the bill at the Vidyut Bhavan ATP. “Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (Pesu) has taken a good step. In our fast lifestyle, such machines help save a lot of time and makes bill submission easier,” said the private company employee.
Harendra, however, had a complaint. “The only problem is that even paying the bill, the previous amount reflects in the next bill. One has to do the rounds of the power office to get it rectified. Officials must solve this.”
Sanjiv Kumar, a businessman, said: “This is the best possible way to pay the bill in just two minutes.”
