New Delhi, Aug. 4: Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav today termed Bihar's new prohibition law "kala kanoon" (black law) in the Lok Sabha and urged the central government to intervene.

Pappu, who was expelled from the RJD last year, charged Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar with serving alcohol to the people over the last 10 years and now coming up with a draconian prohibition law.

"According to the new law, family members will also be arrested if alcohol is found in some house. This is a black law," Pappu said raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha.

He alleged that Nitish's regime was worse than that of "Hitler" and "Changez (Genghis) Khan" and said the new provisions in the law were anti-poor.

Pappu started off by raising the issue of lathicharge by the police on Dalit students in Patna yesterday and then shifted to the prohibition law. He alleged that Nitish was anti-Dalit and anti-poor.

He said the poor would be harassed by the police and other officials in the name of enforcing the new prohibition law and demanded central intervention.

"I urge the central government to hold a probe into the new law and get a PIL filed in the court. In his drive to become Prime Minister, Nitish Kumar is attacking the very foundations of the Constitution," Pappu said.
