Muzaffarpur, April 12: The zonal inspector-general of police, Gupteshwar Pandey, today ordered the arrest of suspended inspector of Kazi Mohammadpur police station, Baleshwar Prasad.
Suspecting the dubious role of the inspector in the sensational embezzlement of Kisan Credit Card money by Pinki Kumari, the zonal inspector-general of police asked the deputy superintendent of police (headquarters)-cum-investigating officer of the case, Manish Kumar, to arrest the suspended inspector.
The inspector-general of police has also asked the superintendent of police of West Champaran to arrest him.
The zonal inspector-general of police had transferred the suspended inspector to Bettiah from Muzaffarpur soon after putting Prasad under suspension. The inspector-general of police told The Telegraph that he held a meeting with the senior superintendent of police of Muzaffarpur, Rajesh Kumar, the City superintendent of police and all the deputy superintendents of police and asked them to keep a strict vigil on the illegal activities of the inspectors. The zonal inspector-general of police has directed the senior superintendent of police of Muzaffarpur to review the cases supervised by the suspended inspector when he was posted in the Minapur police circle. Pandey has asked the police officers to expedite proceedings against the suspended cop for tightening noose around him further.
Meanwhile, the suspended inspector has lodged a complaint case under the Harijan Atrocity Act in court against the zonal inspector-general of police and the deputy superintendent of police (headquarters), Manish Kumar, yesterday. Dharmendra Choudhary has been made witness in the complaint case. The zonal inspector-general of police has asked the police to arrest Dharmendra Choudhary immediately for daring to be a witness of the concocted case against him.
