Mishap claims two

Patna: Two persons were killed after a speeding truck hit them in the Nandlal Chhapra area under the Agamkuan police station on Wednesday afternoon. esidents blocked a section on NH-30 for an hour. The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.

Ammo haul

Patna: Rohtas police on Wednesday seized a countrymade rifle and nine pistols from the possession of three firearms suppliers of the CPI(Maoist) based on a tip-off.

Litchi fest

Patna: Agriculture minister Narendra Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the Litchi Mahotsava, which will continue for the next one year, at SK Memorial Hall. Two thousand litchi farmers from Muzaffarpur, East Champaran, West Champaran, Samastipur, Sitamarhi and Vaishali attended the inauguration.

Bank proof

Patna: State Bank of India on Wednesday appealed to its customers in the Patna circle to comply with the Reserve Bank of India’s guidelines, Know Your Customer, that mandates furnishing identity and residential proofs to maintain an account.

Medic support

Patna: Bihar State Health Service Association on Wednesday condemned the Rajasthan government’s action of suspending 100 and arresting 1,000 doctors who are on an indefinite strike in demand for promotion and better pay. The association members would wear black badges on New Year’s Eve to show solidarity with the Rajasthan medics.

Tobacco ban

Patna: Health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Wednesday said political parities should stop recruiting members who consume tobacco products, at a meet organised by Cancer Awareness Society and NGO Voice of Tobacco Victims.
