HC prod to state on land

Patna: The high court on Wednesday issued a notice to the state government and sought its response within four weeks on a petition challenging the land acquisition process for 74 acres for constructing Sashashtra Seema Bal headquarters at Araria. he court asked the authorities not to dispossess the landowners from their land till the next order.

Threat

Patna: Sheikhpura sub-divisional officer (SDO) Mohammad Manjoor Ali has received a threat for carrying out a special drive against stone quarrying mafia operating in the district.

Bail refused

Patna: The high court on Wednesday refused an interim bail to Bipin Rai, an accused in the sexual assault case lodged by Rupam Pathak, who killed Purnea MLA Rajkishore Keshari.
