Patna, Jan. 14: Vaishali police on Saturday busted an inter-district gang involved in theft of antiques, following the arrest of six persons from Lalganj police station area. One country-made pistol and four cellphones were seized from them.ajipur sadar sub-divisional police officer Ashok Prasad said acting on a tip-off, a team conducted raids and arrested six persons identified as Sattan Sahni, America Sahni, Sokil Sahni, Nandlal Sahni, Pintu alias Gorka and Deonath Mahto.

Detained

Patna: Two bank agents were detained by Gandhi Maidan police station on Saturday for allegedly withdrawing Rs three lakh from a woman’s bank account.

Budget meet

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi will hold pre-budget meetings from January 16 with all stakeholders for preparing state’s budget for 2012-13.

Compensation

Patna: Bihar state Human Rights Commission chairman Justice S.N. Jha on Saturday directed the state government to pay a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to one Yugal Mochi for illegally keeping him in jail as an undertrial. The commission directed the government to submit the compliance report within six weeks.

Arrests

Ara: Four criminals were arrested by Bhojpur police on Saturday who were allegedly involved in loot of Rs 8 lakh from a grocery shop owner, Jitendra Prasad, on January 11 this year.
