Branch falls on auto

Patna: An autorickshaw driver died and two passengers were injured when a branch fell off a tree on the vehicle at Daroga Rai Path under Kotwali police station on Monday around 8.30am. he driver has been identified as Raju Sao. The injured, Pinki Kumar and Pankaj Kumar, are undergoing treatment.

Modi talks

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi will start his pre budget exercise from January 20. He will hold a series of talks and seek proposals for the budget for the fiscal 2011-12.

Slow start

Patna: Urban development minister Prem Kumar has expressed his unhappiness that work in only four schemes out of 18 in the Basic Service for Urban Poor (BSUP) project, implemented by Hudco, is on. Under the project, over 22,000 housing units are to be made at a cost of over Rs 709 crore.

Collision

Chhapra: Two persons died on Monday when their motorcycles collided on the Gaura-Nagra main road under Marhaura police station around 11.30am. The deceased have been identified as Sitaram Mahto and Vijay Kumar Rai.

Murder case

Patna: Additional district and sessions judge XI Om Prakash Sinha send a office letter to the Purnea jail superintendent after Amar Yadav, a co-accused in the murder of CPI MLA Ajit Sarkar, was not produced in court from the Purnea jail on Monday.

Inquiry

Patna: The high court bench comprising Justice Shiva Kirti Singh and Justice Ravi Ranjan directed the Jamui district magistrate to conduct an inquiry into corruption allegations in the implantation of solar lights and Indira Awas Yojana.
