Fake job racket

Patna: People from various states on Monday lodged a complaint at SK Puri police station aga-inst a Boring Road-based placement agency, accusing it of cheating them of money with promises of government jobs. he people also alleged that the cops at the police station misbehaved with them when they went there with the complaint. The police have denied the allegation and said a complaint has been lodged and the matter is under investigation.

Electrocution

Siwan: Four persons, including two women, were electrocuted when high-tension wires fell on them at Baghra and Balia Mathia villages on Monday.

Rape charge

Muzaffarpur: A lawyer was arrested on charges of raping a woman on Monday. An FIR has been lodged in this regard. Deputy superintendent of police (city) Bacha Singh said the woman had gone to meet the lawyer with her husband. The lawyer asked them to stay at his house at night. At midnight, the accused barged into the room and allegedly raped her after the husband fled. The victim has been sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital for medical test.

Arrest

Gaya: Ajay, alias Amrit, a “sub-zonal commander” of the CPI(Maoist) operating in the district, was arrested along the Bihar-Jharkhand bordering area on Monday.

Strike call

Patna: The CPI (ML) Liberation has called a Bihar bandh on May 10 in protest against alleged police atrocities in Aurangabad.

Loan target

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday asked banks to ensure loan disbursement among farmers and women for meeting the loan disbursement target of Rs 51,400 crore in 2012-13.
