Court order on dues

Patna: A bench of Justice Navaniti Prasad Singh of Patna High Court on Monday directed the state government to make payments of arrears/dues to about 2,000 readers of all universities of the state within a week. he court made it clear that the order would be applicable to all, irrespective of the fact whether anyone has approached the court or not.

Hassan case

Patna: District and sessions judge, Patna, V.N. Mishra on Monday called for a case diary after hearing the anticipatory bail application of Pune-based stud farm owner Hass an Ali Khan who is accused in connection with the issue of a passport in 1997 from Patna passport office on basis of false documents. The next date of hearing is June 4.

Hearing

Patna: Patna High Court will resume hearing on Tuesday on the appeals filed by Arvind Kumar and Subhash Prasad Sinha, the vice-chancellors of Magadh University, Bodhgaya and Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara respectively, whose appointments were set aside by the single bench of the high court. The arguments remained inconclusive on Monday.

Dharna

Gaya: At least five Buddhist monks sat on a dharna on Monday at Bodhgaya ahead of Buddha Purnima on Tuesday, demanding implementation of recommendation of the National Commission for Minorities.

Job racket

Patna: Patliputra police has busted a fake job racket. Four people have been arrested in this connection. The racketeers would ask for demand drafts from candidates in exchange of jobs.

Drowned

Gopalganj: Three youths were feared to have drowned in Gandak on Monday morning. Sou-rces said Krishna Sah alo-ng with his two sons had gone to take bath in Gandak at Salempur Ghat.
