B>n Patna: Rohtas police nabbed 10 notorious criminals, including seven from Jharkhand and two from Uttar Pradesh, from Karakat police station area while they were plotting a crime on Thursday. ohtas superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said six countrymade pistols, 35 live cartridges and 10 mobiles were recovered from their possession.

B>n Patna: A bench of Justice Sheema Ali Khan of Patna High Court on Thursday granted bail to former RJD MP from Siwan Mohammed Shahabuddin for want of evidence in the Yogendra Pandey murder case.

CBI probe

B>n Chhapra: Labour minister Janardan Singh Sigriwal on Thursday assured the grieving family of slain doctor Bhudeo Singh that he would meet chief minister Nitish Kumar and recommend for CBI inquiry into the case. Meanwhile, Saran divisional commissioner Indra Sen Singh, DIG Saran range Sunil Kumar, district magistrate Vinay Kumar and superintendent of police A.K. Satyarthi led a raid on Chhapra jail on Thursday.

B>n Patna: Yogesh Chandra Verma, the chairman of the co-ordination committee of all the three lawyers associations of Patna High Courton Thursday termed the high court administration’s decision to break open the lock of advocates association’s room for creating a courtroom as arbitrary and despotic. An advocates’ delegation on Thursday met the chief justice who assured to provide them alternative space.

Life term

B>n Patna: Fast-track court second judge Daan Pal Singh on Thursday sentenced eight persons, including Akhilesh Choudhary, to life imprisonment in connection with the abduction of Patna general post office agent Pintu Kumar for ransom. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 thousand on each of them.
