Exam bill nod

Patna, May 17: Governor D.Y. Patil today approved the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (Amendment) Bill, 2013. ith the nod, there will be separate combined entrance tests for medical, engineering and other technical colleges.

Touts held

Patna: Around 20 alleged touts were arrested from the vicinity of the Passport Seva Kendra on Friday on charges of duping people and assuring them of making passports.

Golf classes

Patna: Pupils up to 14 years would be able to learn golf under the guidance of trainers at Patna Golf Club till May 31.

Cong rally

Patna: Congress leaders, including Union ministers, would make a whirlwind tour of the state for the Maharajganj bypoll for 11 days in the state beginning May 20. The bypoll is slated for June 2.

Naac modality

Patna: A meeting of all college principals under Patna University was held at Patna Women’s College on Friday to discuss on modalities that colleges should have before going for Naac accreditation.

Anti-Red force

Patna: Recruitment of constables for central paramilitary forces would be conducted at Nabinagar, Barachatti and Police Lines (Jamui) for Aurangabad, Gaya and Jamui districts on May 27, a CRPF press note said.

Protest

Patna: All India Students’ Association members staged a protest at Patna University on Friday in demand of promoting postgraduate students who have failed to clear the semester exam owing to alleged discrepancies in promotion rules.

Rally expense

Patna: The income tax department has served a notice on RJD seeking details of the expenses it incurred on the party’s Parivartan Rally.
