Patna, April 13: Around 50 homes were gutted and a woman was burnt to death in a fire triggered by gas cylinder explosions on the Veterinary College campus near the airport today morning. en fire tenders took more than two hours to douse the flames, police said. Multiple gas cylinder explosions caused the fire to spread fast. The deceased, identified as Rukmani Devi (75), who was paralysed, could not escape. A couple, Sanjeet Prasad and Rinki Devi, suffered burns and are admitted at Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Coal block

Patna: The Centre has re-allocated the Urma Paharitola coal block in Jharkhand to Bihar State Mineral Development Corporation. Last year, Bihar had refused to accept it citing lack of resources and expertise to develop it.

Arrest

Patna: Police on Saturday arrested nine persons from New Secretariat under the jurisdiction of Sachivalaya police station for allegedly involving in gambling racket.

Bodies found

Patna: Police recovered the bodies of two persons on Saturday from a drain near the Nalanda Medical College Hospital.
